Compliance with eye and foot preventive care in people with self-reported diabetes in Latin America and the Caribbean: Pooled, cross-sectional analysis of nine national surveys
CONCLUSIONS: The proportion of eye and foot examinations in people with self-reported diabetes across nine countries in LAC is low.PMID:38503635 | DOI:10.1016/j.pcd.2024.03.001 (Source: Primary Care)

Choice of molecular marker influences spatial patterns of phylogenetic diversity
Biol Lett. 2024 Mar;20(3):20230581. doi: 10.1098/rsbl.2023.0581. Epub 2024 Mar 20.ABSTRACTSpatial patterns of phylogenetic diversity (PD) are increasingly becoming relevant for conservation decisions. PD measures are based on phylogenies estimated from molecular data. This paper addresses the question of how different molecular markers impact PD spatial patterns. We first conducted a simple simulation to explore the effect of deep and shallow changes in topology (simulating variations in molecular markers), using ultrametric and non-ultrametric trees, and then used a dataset of Chilean flora with four sets of markers to as...

Attitudinal factors associated with protein sufficiency in Chilean vegan university students - A pilot study
CONCLUSION: there needs to be more protein adequacy in the assessed sample. Protein adequacy is associated with the length of time on the vegan diet, frequency of eating lunch away from home, and use of supplements regularly.PMID:38501809 | DOI:10.20960/nh.04878 (Source: Nutricion Hospitalaria)

Roles within domestic environments in Chile: the food gatekeeper
CONCLUSIONS: in conclusion, the need to consider the distribution of roles in nutritional health interventions is emphasized, avoiding reproducing risky practices for health and quality of life of food gatekeepers, by overexerting them under the justification of effectiveness in the transmission of healthy habits to families.PMID:38501837 | DOI:10.20960/nh.04923 (Source: Nutricion Hospitalaria)
