Pediatric Revision Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction: Current Concepts Review

Conclusion: Rerupture of the ACL in the pediatric population is a challenging complication that requires special attention. Diagnostic evaluation of repeat ACL ruptures is similar to primary injuries. Although outcomes after revision ACL reconstruction are expectedly worse than after primary reconstruction, athletes do return to sport after proper rehabilitation. Further research is needed to continue to improve outcomes in this high-risk population, aimed at continued knee stability, graft survivorship, and improved quality of life.
