Preface

Damage to peripheral nerves can occur secondary to an accident or iatrogenic injury that compresses, stretches, or severs nerve fibers or secondary to a disease process, such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, or even tumors. The symptoms of these injuries can be mild or severe, progressive or static. Regardless, treatment should be sought expeditiously to prevent permanent impairment. This issue mostly focuses on the treatment of peripheral nerve injuries related to trauma or surgical injury.
