Attitudes to driving among patients with diabetes mellitus in Punjab (ADD-Punjab study)

In India, the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) estimates that as of 2019, 77 million people are living with diabetes [1]. Along with an increase in the prevalence of diabetes in the country there has also been a significant increase in vehicle ownership in India. As of 2017, there were 253 million vehicles on the road in India of which a little over 73% were two wheelers [2]. At 18.9 deaths, the estimated deaths from road traffic accidents per 100,000 population is also among the highest in the world [3].
