Strawberry gingivitis

A 38-year-old man presented to the emergency department with acute renal failure. He had a medical history of recurrent sinusitis for 1 year, regularly treated with antibiotics. He was not taking any other treatment. He complained of asthenia, diffuse muscle pain, and arthralgias, affecting knees, elbows, and wrist for 1 month. Clinical examination findings noted gingival hyperplasia with a granular appearance typical of “strawberry gingivitis” (Figure 1a). Biological findings revealed high creatinine (350 μmol/l) and C-reactive protein (149 mg/l) levels.
