Characterizing Differences in Thymic Function in Women With and Without Vulvodynia: A Community-Based Study

Conclusions These findings suggest that at younger ages, women with vulvodynia have higher thymic output and a more precipitous decline of thymic function than those without vulvodynia. It also seems that a strong immune inflammatory response is present proximate to the onset of vulvar pain and may wane subsequently over time.
