Fertility centers and cell-free fetal dna screening (cffdna): a review of maternit ® 21 plus performance in the reproductive health setting
Individuals who become pregnant through reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) often conceive by some type of fertility treatment. Patients who have experienced infertility or received fertility treatment, may have an aversion to chorionic villus sampling or amniocentesis because of the perceived risk associated with these procedures. Given the risk of procedure related pregnancy loss from these procedures patients may request cffDNA to provide additional information prior to deciding on diagnostic testing.
