At the Cliff: Partnership and Collaboration to Address our Public Mental Health Crisis

Medicine has historically called upon its professionals to respond to the evolving needs of the population and the systems in which the care of patients take place. From the time of our early development as a field of medicine in the first child guidance clinics, child and adolescent psychiatrists (CAP) have adjusted to significant change.1,2 Movement from institutionalized to industrial settings,3 practice under managed care,4 and a growth of possibilities under the Affordable Care Act5 have been a living history for CAPs who are in current practice and mentoring new practitioners today.
