An Unusual Case of Gordonia sputi Cerebral Infection

We present the first known case of G. sputi cerebral infection as a consequence of iatrogenic intrathecal chemotherapy through an Ommaya reservoir. The patient was successfully treated with a 14-day course of antibiotics without any further complications. There is sparse information on both infections due to and treatment of G. sputi. We present our case report as well as a review of the literature on the epidemiology, susceptibility, and treatment recommendations for G. sputi infections.
