P.90 Impact of coagulation result delays on transfusion practice in major obstetric haemorrhage
Introduction: The 2016-18 MBRRACE report commented that in some women who died from major obstetric haemorrhage (MOH), there was a delay in blood product administration due to delays in reporting coagulation tests.1 The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) recommend empirical transfusion of blood products where haemorrhage is ongoing and coagulation results are unknown.2 Our primary objective was to examine the average length of time for coagulation studies to be processed with a result available on our electronic database and assess the association between coagulation results and products given.
