Srinivas Rangarajan wins NSF CAREER award for catalytic transfer hydrogenation research

(Lehigh University) Srinivas Rangarajan, an assistant professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering at Lehigh University won support from the NSF's Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) program to develop novel tools to better understand catalytic transfer hydrogenation (CTH). He will develop a novel computational framework to answer fundamental questions about the chemistry at the molecular level. CTH holds promise for processing biomass, upcycling plastic waste, and manufacturing specialty chemicals on a smaller, more streamlined scale.
