Do we need to re-define the baveno VI elastography criteria for compensataed advanced chronic liver disease (cACLD)? Letter to the editor in relation to “refining the baveno VI elastography criteria for the definition of compensated advanced chronic liver disease” by papatheodoridi et al.

We read with interest the article by Papatheodoridi et al.1 proposing a change in the cut-offs for excluding and diagnosing compensated advanced chronic liver disease (cACLD). We share with the authors the need for validation of these criteria for ruling in and out cACLD. However, we have concerns with the proposed changes and the clinical implications they carry.
