Ultrasensitive visual detection of Hg < sup > 2+ < /sup > ions < em > via < /em > the Tyndall effect of gold nanoparticles
Chem Commun (Camb). 2021 Feb 23. doi: 10.1039/d0cc08003a. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThis work reports a new methodology for naked-eye nanosensing of Hg2+ where the Tyndall effect of gold nanoparticles (GNPs) acts as a light scattering signalling readout. Its utility is demonstrated with ultrasensitive detection of the target with a limit down to 0.13 nM (∼5461-fold sensitivity improvement over conventional GNP-based methods with surface plasmon resonance signalling).PMID:33621285 | DOI:10.1039/d0cc08003a
