Adoption of the Transradial Approach for Neurointerventions: A National Survey of Current Practitioners

The transradial approach (TRA) has been demonstrated to reduce mortality, morbidity, access-site complications, hospital cost, and hospital length of stay when compared to the transfemoral approach (TFA) in multiple cardiac trials.1-6 The approach is technically feasible for both diagnostic7 and therapeutic8,9 neurointerventions. Patients strongly prefer procedures done via TRA,10,11 likely due to increased postprocedural comfort.
