Arid2 regulates hematopoietic stem cell differentiation in normal hematopoiesis

Adult hematopoiesis originates from the hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs), which reside in the bone marrow. HSCs are multipotent, adult stem cells with the hallmark ability to self-renew and differentiate into all blood lineages. Epigenetic regulators have been reported to play important roles in HSC function, and their dysregulation leads to hematological malignancies [1]. These includes the switch/sugar nonfermenting (SWI/SNF) family of chromatin remodeling complexes [2 –4].
