CT screening for lung cancer

Early detection of lung cancer significantly improves survival. Indeed, screening for lung cancer has similar mortality benefits to those of breast and bowel cancer screening. Prior to the COVID ‐19 pandemic, national lung screening was being considered in the UK. Here the authors discuss how lung cancer screening could be optimised and argue that it could radically transform outcomes, signalling the need for implementation after the COVID‐19 pandemic abates.
