405 Single Centre Audit of Left Atrial Appendage Thrombus Found during Transoseophgeal Echocardiogram and Correlation to CHADSVASc Score

Current Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) practice is to perform Transoesophageal Echocardiogram (TOE) prior to electrical cardioversion (DCCV) in all patients with atrial fibrillation or flutter (AF/flutter) who have been anticoagulated for less than 4 weeks to exclude left atrial appendage (LAA) thrombus. An audit was performed to evaluate the benefit of performing a TOE for patients deemed low risk for stroke (CHADSVASc 0) and to correlate LAA thrombus with CHADVASc score
