The Emperor Has No Clothes – Medical Journals and Experts Must Stand Up and Condemn the Federal Pandemic Response

The New England Journal of Medicine, in an unprecedented move, published an editorial statement in the October 8, 2020, issue condemning the federal pandemic response [1]. The article pointed out that the tragedy of the pandemic could have been avoided with an appropriate federal response and leadership [1]. The editors note that the United States has had more covid19 infections and deaths than any other country in the world, including countries with much larger populations. As of the date of publication, over 7.5 million Americans had been infected with the coronavirus and over 200,000 had died [1].
