Inequities of the COVID-19 Pandemic Among Minority Populations: My Family's Struggle to Survive. During my visit, my medical school joined many across the tristate area to suspend all clinical rotations because of the burgeoning COVID-19 outbreak. I reverted to online classes and sheltered in place at my parents' home in the Bronx. As a first-time mother to a four-month-old baby girl, the outbreak terrified me.
