5.1 what to measure? the need for a core outcome set in adolescent mdd trials

The wide heterogeneity in what, how, and when outcomes are measured in adolescent MDD trials limits the evaluation of treatment efficacy, because individual trial results cannot be pooled together and conclusions around the most effective treatment cannot be made. A Core Outcome Set (COS), as defined by the COMET (Core Outcome Measures in Effectiveness Trials) Initiative, is an agreed standardized set of outcomes that should be measured and reported as a minimum in all clinical trials and audits in a specific area of health or health care.
