Inhaled budesonide does not prevent acute mountain sickness?

We read with great interest the excellent article titled “Inhaled budesonide for the prevention of acute mountain sickness: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials” by Zhu and colleagues [1]. The authors should be complimented on their efforts to address the importance of budesonide in acute mountain sickness (AMS). In the current meta-analysi s, the authors concluded that the inhaled budesonide is effective in reducing heart rate and increasing pulse oxygen saturation, but does not protect against AMS.
