Shock as ‘painkillers do more harm than good’ says medical watchdog

COMMON painkillers such as paracetamol, aspirin and opioids should not be prescribed to millions of people, the medicines watchdog ruled yesterday. GPs will be told to stop dishing out pills to patients suffering from chronic primary pain which can't be explained by another diagnosis or underlying condition.
