Design, synthesis and in vitro evaluation of tylophorine derivatives as possible anti-tumor agents.

Design, synthesis and in vitro evaluation of tylophorine derivatives as possible anti-tumor agents. Chem Biodivers. 2020 Jun 22;: Authors: Mang Z, Zhang S, Bai J, Li M, Li H Abstract Structural simplification and modification of natural products is always a very important resource to find anti-tumor drugs. By introducing various amino methyl groups and amide groups into phenanthrene ring of tylophorine, a novel seriesof tylophorine derivatives have been designed and synthesized. And their anti-proliferative activities against MCF-7, A549 and HepG-2 cells have been evaluated too. The results indicated that most of the prepared compounds exhibited good anti-tumor activities. Especially, compound AF-012 with an N -ethyl-2-morpholinoethanamine methyl group at the side chain of phenanthrene ring exhibited the most significant cytotoxic effects.
