ConclusionsThe nomogram we present here, based on four clinical and imaging characteristics, could be useful in predicting postoperative voiding dysfunction for women undergoing surgery for deep endometriosis. Patients could thus be better informed about this postoperative risk and the surgical strategy adapted according to individual risk. The accuracy of the tool was validated externally but additional validation is required.

MicroRNA‑16 inhibits endometrial stromal cell migration and invasion through suppression of the inhibitor of nuclear factor‑κB kinase subunit β/nuclear factor‑κB pathway. Int J Mol Med. 2020 Aug;46(2):740-750 Authors: Wang X, Ren R, Shao M, Lan J Abstract Accumulating evidence has demonstrated that endometrial stromal cells (ESCs) are responsible for the pathogenesis of endometriosis (Ems), which is characterized by the presence of functional endometrial‑like tissues outside the uterine cavity. Abnormal expression of microRNAs (miRNAs) in ESCs may be implicated in the etiology...

A 38-year-old woman gravida 3 para 1, aborta 2 with body mass index of 21 kg/m2 underwent laparoscopic fulguration of endometriosis. Three 5-mm bladeless trocars were used. Superficial endometriosis implants in the posterior cul-de-sac and left uterosacral ligament were fulgurated using bipolar electrosurgery without difficulty. Two days later, the patient experienced a “pop-like” sensation in the umbilicus after coughing. Abdominal examination revealed a 4 × 2 × 1-cm pink-tan structure protruding through the umbilicus (Figure 1, panel A).

Authors: Feng Y, Zhan F, Zhong Y, Tan B Abstract The present study aimed to investigate the effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (Huc‑MSCs)‑derived exosomes on the migratory abilities of endometrial glandular epithelial cells, and to evaluate the underlying mechanism from the perspective of epithelial‑mesenchymal transition (EMT). Huc‑MSCs were prepared from human umbilical cord, and eutopic endometrial glandular epithelial cells were isolated from patients with endometriosis. The exosomes derived from Huc‑MSCs (Huc‑MSCs‑exo) were prepared using an exosome extraction kit. The endomet...
