A new tool to predict delays in post-surgical radiotherapy for head and neck cancer

(Medical University of South Carolina) Hollings Cancer Center researchers at the Medical University of South Carolina have developed and validated prediction calculators, known as nomograms, to help provide personalized estimates of delayed, non-guideline adherent head and neck cancer care. These tools could be used to help prevent delays in the initiation of radiotherapy after surgery, augmenting treatment and improving overall patient survival.
