Conclusions: Cochlear implantation in cases of substantial UHL may offer significant improvements in quality of life. Quality of life measures revealed a reduction in perceived tinnitus severity and subjective improvements in speech perception in noise, spatial hearing, and listening effort. Conclusions: Following GJB2, STRC was the second most frequently mutated gene in patients from the Czech Republic with hearing loss. To decrease the cost of testing, we recommend STRC deletion screening with MLPA before next-generation sequencing. The existence of a pseudogene and polymorphic STRC regions can lead to false-positive or false-negative results when copy number variation analysis is based on next-generation sequencing data.

CONCLUSION: In our series, QOL is not influenced in patients with unilateral untreated small VS in comparison to Germany's general population. CONCLUSIONS: Microsurgery represents the first therapeutic option for small growing VS with SUH. Our data confirm that key-hole RS removal of VS with intraoperative LS-CE-Chirp ABR monitoring allows good rate of SUH preservation, especially maximum diameter does not exceed 2cm.
