The Procedureless Elipse Gastric Balloon Program: Multicenter Experience in 1770 Consecutive Patients

ConclusionThe Elipse ™ Balloon demonstrated an excellent safety profile. The balloon also exhibited remarkable efficacy with 14.2% TBWL and improvement across all metabolic parameters.

Abstract Kras mutations are associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Although tobacco smoking, pancreatitis, and obesity are known environmental risk factors for PDAC, contribution of moderate alcohol intake to PDAC remains elusive. In the present study, we tested whether a combination of risk factors or moderate alcohol intake induces PDAC development in mice. Control Pdx1Cre and Pdx1Cre;LSL-KrasG12D mutant mice were fed a Western alcohol diet containing high levels of cholesterol and saturated fat, 3.5% alcohol, and lipopolysaccharide for 5 months. In addition, mice were treated with cerulein, fo...

ConclusionsSerum lipid profile is not associated with IPFD in healthy non-obese. Triglycerides, but not other components of lipid profile, is a promising biomarker for IPFD in individuals following acute pancreatitis.

In conclusion, FGF21 belongs to a promising class of cytokines that are induced in response to stress and that can be used as a drug, drug target, or through a biomarker, depending on the physio-pathological context. All these findings will become clear when FGF21 will be used as a therapeutic molecule, exploiting the beneficial effects of FGF21 for treating metabolic disease or when it will be blocked to ameliorate disease progression and the onset of disease. Abstract ASCVD reduction is based on LDL reduction, especially by statins. Highly elevated TG could be harmful, especially because of the risk of pancreatitis. Elevation of TG is mainly due to metabolic disorders and diabetes, alcohol intake and overweight. Genetic factors have been clearly identified in the most severe cases. TG have been generally considered as bystanders for cardiovascular diseases (CVD). Both biological and basic research provide strong data suggesting that TG-rich lipoproteins could be involved in the pathophysiology of CVD. Recent epidemiological and genetics studies strongly corroborate the...

Introduction: Cardiovascular disease remains the major cause of morbidity, mortality and disability in developed countries, among which ranks first CAD. According to current European guidelines for treatment of dyslipidemia statins are considered as first-line drugs. While statin therapy significantly reduces the risk of cardiovascular events, accumulate the data that indicate that they may increase the risk of type 2 diabetes. Diabetes type 2 diabetes and obesity are also major and independent risk factors for CAD.

Eating disorders — such as anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating — are serious, potentially life-threatening conditions that affect a person’s emotional and physical health. Eating disorders are neither a fad nor a phase that a person goes through. Such a belief minimizes the seriousness of these disorders and discourages their treatment. There are serious health consequences that result from leaving these disorders go untreated, Eating disorders are real, complex, and devastating conditions that can have serious consequences for health, productivity, and relationships. People struggling with an eating diso...
