NIH and DOE Partner to Host Bioimaging Webinars

NIH and the Department of Energy (DOE) support national centers and dedicated instruments for high-resolution bioimaging at national facilities including: X-ray microscopy and tomography3D electron microscopycryo-electron microscopyinfrared imaginglight microscopylive cell imaging image analysisdynamicscomputingsoftware developmentdata management Recognizing that new directions in science are often launched by innovative tools and methods as well as new biological concepts, the agencies also support the development of novel bioimaging tools and methods at these centers and in the laboratories of independent researchers. To promote greater use of existing NIH- and DOE-supported bioimaging facilities and movement of imaging technologies from non-biological fields into biomedical research applications, we’re partnering with NIH’s National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering and the DOE to sponsor two informational webinars for researchers who use high-resolution (sub-nanometer to micrometer) bioimaging technologies on samples from atoms to cells. In parallel, the agencies are soliciting information from the research community about unaddressed research needs through a request for information, which is scheduled to be published in mid-March. To participate, join the WebEx meetings using the information below. Recordings will be archived and made available on the NIGMS website at a later date. DOE and NIH Centers & Facilities...
