This study assessed whether MBBF in the femoral neck (FN) is preserve d in the context of inhibited remodeling in subjects receiving denosumab. This open ‐label study enrolled postmenopausal women with osteoporosis who had received ≥2 doses of denosumab (60 mg subcutaneously Q6M) per standard of care and were planning elective total hip replacement (THR) owing to osteoarthritis of the hip. Transverse sections of the FN were obtained after THR and analyzed histomorphometrically. MBBF, based on fluorochrome labeling and presence of smooth cement lines, was evaluated in cancellous, endocortical, and periosteal envelopes o...

In this study, we retrospectively investigated the relationship between the intraoperative reduction quality and the prognosis such as the posttraumatic osteoarthritis to help surgeons achieve better functional outcomes for this high-energy transsyndesmotic ankle fracture dislocation. From January 2015 to February 2019, 31 patients (average 37.6 ± 9.4 years with 19 male and 12 female) diagnosed with the Logsplitter injury were treated by ORIF procedure and enrolled in our study. Particularly, nine vital radiographic parameters including medial clear space, talocrural angle, superior clear space, tibiofibular clear s...

This study compares psychological and somatosensory characteristics between those with persistent PFP and controls.Methods150 adults with PFP were compared to 61 controls. All participants completed a survey evaluating participant characteristics, PFP ‐related constructs and psychological factors: anxiety, depression, pain catastrophizing, kinesiophobia, pain self‐efficacy. Participants also attended a session of somatosensory testing, which included knee and elbow thermal and mechanical detection and pain thresholds, conditioned pain modulat ion (CPM), and temporal summation of pain (TSP). Differences were evaluated u...
