AbstractSitagliptin attenuates left ventricular (LV) dysfunction and may improve oxygen uptake in animals. The effects of sitagliptin on oxygen uptake (VO2) and exercise hemodynamics have been unclear in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and coronary artery disease (CAD). Thirty patients with T2DM and CAD were randomized into a sitagliptin (50 mg/day) or voglibose (0.6 mg/day) group. Patients underwent maximal cardiopulmonary exercise testing. VO2 and hemodynamics were evaluated at rest, anaerobic threshold and peak exercise. Resting LV diastolic function (E ’, peak early diastolic mitral annular velocity...

CONCLUSIONS These results indicate that GDLP against T2DM-induced hepatic steatosis, oxidative stress, and inflammation by improving the Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway in db/db mice, suggesting the GDLP may serve as an effective strategy for in fatty liver treatment. Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a common complication of pregnancy associated with significant maternal and neonatal morbidities, including increased risk of pre-eclampsia, macrosomia, and subsequent type 2 diabetes.[1] In most developed countries, universal glucose testing is performed at 24-28 weeks ’ gestation to identify women with overt glucose intolerance.[2] Ideally, women at high risk of developing GDM would be identified earlier in pregnancy to facilitate preventive intervention, enhance antenatal care, and improve clinical outcomes through reduced maternal and fetal exposure to metabo lic alterations...

Diabetes distress (DD) leads to damaging consequences in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM). Few studies have been carried out on the DD among elderly in Iran. The aim of the current study was to investigate the prevalence of DD and some of its related factors on the elderly living in Qom, Iran.

Abstract BACKGROUND: Health-related quality of life (HRQL) is an important outcome for chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus that is associated with complications, comorbidities, and lifelong care. OBJECTIVES: The present study aims to explore the impact of comorbidities on the different dimensions of HRQL among type 2 diabetic patients attending primary care. METHODS: A total of 912 type 2 diabetic patients attending primary care centers in India were assessed using a predesigned and pretested questionnaire - Diabetes Comorbidity Evaluation Tool in Primary Care. The HRQL was measured by physical an...

ConclusionAndean adults showed greater odds of T2DM compared with Spanish native adults in Madrid, with variation observed by age and sex. These findings emphasize the need for studying immigrant populations in a disaggregated manner to implement specific clinical and preventive approaches.

This study was conducted using a randomized, double-blind design and grouped subjects under two research conditions: an experimental group given Brain Breaks videos and a control group. Purposive sampling was employed to recruit 70 T2DM patients (male = 39, female = 31) with the mean age of 57.6 (SD = 8.5) from Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia, Kelantan. Over a four-month period, the participants in the experimental group were asked to perform PA daily based on a Brain Breaks video (10 min in duration) that was shared through a WhatsApp group. All participants from both groups answered the PALMS-M questionnaire five time...
