Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a member of the Gamma Herpesvirus family, which infects almost 90% of the people worldwide. Its primary target are human B lymphocytes, where it establishes a lifelong persistent infection, mostly asymptomatic (Hatton et al., 2014).
