CRISPR gene-engineered CYBBko THP-1 cell lines highlight the crucial role of NADPH-induced reactive oxygen species for regulating inflammasome activation

CRISPR-Cas9 engineered CYBBko THP-1 cell lines display an inflammatory profile with increased IL-1 β, IL-6 and TNF-α secretion as consequence of NADPH-induced ROS deficiency. This phenotype is reminiscent of the one observed in phagocytes from CGD patients.
