21 Performance assessment of the Calypso ® system

Introduction. The Calypso ® 4D localization system (Calypso® Medical Technologies, Seattle, Wa) is a real-time electromagnetic tracking system. It is used to continuously monitor implanted Beacon® transponders for patient alignment and target position tracking during the treatment. The purpose of the study was to assess t he performances, the accuracy and the stability of this system.
