In conclusion, when treating elderly men with a smoking history, physicians need to carefully examine the walls of cystic airspaces on CT for fetal adenocarcinoma.Key pointsSignificant findings of the study•Pulmonary high‐grade fetal adenocarcinoma may be associated with emphysematous bullae manifesting as cystic air spaces as shown by computed tomography. What this study adds•When scanning by computed tomography, physicians should carefully examine the pulmonary cystic airspace walls in elderly men with a smoking history.

This study aims to develop CT image based artificial intelligence (AI) schemes to classify between non-IA and IA nodules, and incorporate deep learning (DL) and radiomics features to improve the classification performance. We collect 373 surgical pathological confirmed ground-glass nodules (GGNs) from 323 patients in two centers. It involves 205 non-IA (including 107 adenocarcinoma in situ and 98 minimally invasive adenocarcinoma), and 168 IA. We first propose a recurrent residual convolutional neural network based on U-Net to segment the GGNs. Then, we build two schemes to classify between non-IA and IA namely, DL scheme ...

Objective: To study the dosimetric effect on special reconstruction images obtained from an electrocardiograph-gated four-dimensional computed tomography (ECG 4D-CT) series and compare it with the accumulation dose assessment of ECG 4D-CT.Methods: Fifteen patients underwent ECG 4D-CT scans to obtain a 4D-CT series. The 20 phase images of 0–95% were reconstructed at intervals of 5% of the cardiac cycle by the 4D-CT series. The 4D-CT series was specially reconstructed, and the maximum intensity projection (MIP), minimum intensity projection (MinIP), average intensity projection (AIP), and sum intensity projection (SIP)...

ConclusionsWe did not detect a difference in patient outcomes using the dorsal longitudinal mini-arthrotomy; however, it may prevent incongruent joint reconstruction since all cases occurred in Group 1. In the absence of intraoperative CT scan, longitudinal mini-arthrotomy may be used to enhance visualization and achieve joint surface reconstruction.

SummaryTumour thrombus is a complication that occurs when a malignancy invades into the vasculature, occluding its lumen. Here, we present a rare case of melanoma tumour thrombus of the great saphenous vein of the left thigh, which was diagnosed on18F ‐fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography and ultrasound‐guided biopsy, and responded well to immunotherapy with pembrolizumab.

Abstract Erythroderma as the first manifestation of a solid organ malignancy is rare. The underlying cancer is a challenging condition to diagnose. There are a few cases of erythroderma in cancer patients reported in the literature. We here describe the case of a 70-year-old man who presented with asthenia, weight loss, dry cough and total body erythema with desquamation over the past month. A chest computed tomography scan showed a nodular lesion, which was finally diagnosed as a squamous cell lung carcinoma. To our knowledge, as an erythroderma presentation, only 13 cases have been reported in the literature. This case r...
