Highly proliferative exfoliative cheilitis: a case report

A 21-year-old man sought treatment at an oral pathology center presenting with thick, brownish and peeling crusts along the upper and lower lips with a time-course evolution of 5 years. His main complaints were pruritus, burning sensation, and lack of aesthetics. Concomitantly with the onset of the lesions, the patient was diagnosed with anxiety disorder and depression. The diagnosis of exfoliative cheilitis was made based on the clinical characteristics and symptomatology reported by the patient.
