Learning in the tutorial group: A balance between individual freedom and institutional control. The informants were tutors and students from speech-language pathology and physiotherapy programmes. Semi-structured focus-group interviews and individual interviews were used. Results revealed three themes: Responsibility. Time and Support. Under responsibility, the delicate balance between individual and institutional responsibility and control was shown. Time included short and long-term perspectives on learning. Under support, supporting documents, activities and personnel resources were mentioned. In summary, an increased control by the program and tutors decreases student's motivation to assume responsibility for learning. Support in tutorial groups needs to adapt to student progression and to be well aligned to tutorial work to have the intended effect. A lifelong learning perspective may help students develop a meta-awareness regarding learning that could make tutorial work more meaningful. PMID: 23848371 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

This study describes a 10-year-old male patient, clinically diagnosed as having SWB, with congenital aortic stenosis and mental retardation, who was followed up by a cardiologist, psychologist, geneticist, speech therapist, and physiotherapist.
Sialolithiasis is the most common form of obstructive sialadenitis. It is caused by the formation of a sialolith, a rigid structure generally consisting of an organic matrix and a mixture of different calcium phosphates. Its etiology is uncertain but could be a result of a chronic sialadenitis. The most affected gland is the submandibular. Although it may occur at any age, there is a prevalence in male adults older than 40 years. It can be either symptomatic or asymptomatic; the treatment varies from clinical control to physiotherapy to surgical procedures.
Conclusion: The AHD and CSA were reliably measured in the true AP radiographic view. Both radiographic features (AHD35°) were able to confirm the presence of a major RC pathology. However, the AHD
ConclusionDespite a focus on individualisation and exercise adherence, barriers remained in the longer term. Strong therapeutic alliance during treatment appeared to facilitate adherence to exercise and general physical activity. The findings highlight ongoing physiotherapy support and therapeutic alliance as targets for future adherence-enhancing interventions for exercise in older adults with knee pain.
