Domestically Acquired Fascioliasis in Northern California. Am J Trop Med Hyg. 2013 Jul 8; Authors: Weisenberg SA, Perlada DE Abstract Two cases of domestically acquired fascioliasis are reported. Patient One was a 63-year-old male who developed a febrile illness 2 months after eating watercress in Marin County. Patient Two was a 38-year-old male who had eaten watercress with Patient One, and also developed a febrile illness. Both patients had eosinophilia and liver lesions on imaging.
