Back to black…with white flecks

I adore winter clothes. I don’t stand out in my long sleeved tops and my thicker tights are common place in the winter months. I also love the rich dark colors, the many shades of black (and I must say I didn’t know there were quite so many shades of black until I tried – and failed miserably – to find a black jacket to match a pair of black trousers!) and the splashes of color all in winter soft thickness. But, of course, this brings along yet another little dilemma…skin shedding and the tell-tale white flaky flecks that show up against the darker fabrics. I am rigorous in my moisturizing routine. Every morning and evening after my shower, I apply either a prescribed lotion or a deep moisturizer depending on the state of my skin, but it seems that no matter how much I moisturize or how clear my skin is, the slightest hint of psoriasis leads to flecks on clothes. Now this probably happens all year-round, but it is most noticeable on darker clothing. It also makes trying clothes on in a shop a bit of an ordeal. I have to be honest and say that if I went to purchase a jumper and found little white flecks inside the sleeves, I wouldn’t be happy and would probably not buy that garment. But what are we supposed to do? We have to try clothes on to make sure they fit…and our skin flakes despite our best efforts.
