Does quality affect patients’ choice of doctor? Evidence from the UK
This study investigated the effect of practice quality on patients'
choice amongst practices, allowing for other factors such as distance to
the practice and gender and age of practice GPs. It found that patients
are more likely to choose practices which earned more quality points
under the quality and outcomes framework pay for performance scheme.
