Improved results in closed reduction of zygomatic arch fractures by the use of intraoperative cone beam computed tomography imaging

The use of intraoperative imaging may help overcome closed reduction`s insufficiency due to absence of visible feedback for reduction control in isolated zygomatic arch fracture. The aim of this study was to estimate the effect of intraoperative use of 3D imaging by cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) on reduction accuracy as measured by remaining cortical step and dislocation angle and ultimately its effect on the need for second surgery.
