Records suggest KU Health paid millions to settle cancer misdiagnosis
A woman who sued The University of Kansas Health System for a misdiagnosis of pancreatic cancer quietly settled her case last year, apparently for millions.
The settlement was confidential, but KCUR reports that a Kansas agency that provides excess insurance coverage for providers paid out $1.8 million.
Those excess insurance payments suggest that the overall settlement exceeded several million dollars, KCUR reports. A spokeswoman for the system sa id it would have no comment on the settlement.
