Mobilizing clinical informatics to improve child mental health care

This session will stimulate interest in electronic health record (EHR) data science in child and adolescent psychiatry, explore integration of web-based and mobile applications into the EHR, identify barriers, and probe policy and financial implications of this new translational field. Over the last decade, child and adolescent psychiatry has shifted from documentation in paper charts to widespread adoption of EHRs. Clinical informatics has empowered clinicians to extract large-scale EHR data and to adapt and modify EHRs to meet subspecialty needs, especially to advance measurement-based care.
