1.24 assessing irritability in children with asd using the affective reactivity index

Children with ASD often present with co-occurring emotional and behavioral difficulties that require assessment of irritability. The Affective Reactivity Index (ARI) is a parent-rated measure of irritability that has been increasingly used in children with mood disorders, but only 2 studies have examined this tool in ASD. The present study used the ARI to assess irritability in children with ASD and to examine associations of irritability with noncompliance and anxiety.
