3.15 cognitive outcomes in pediatric patients with anti-nmda receptor encephalitis
More than half of the cases of anti-N-methyl-d-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) encephalitis occur in patients under the age of 18 years. Although the acute and chronic phases have been described leading to clinical guidelines for diagnosis and treatment, data on long-term outcomes in these populations are lacking and relatively little is known about the longer-term cognitive outcomes in youth. We review the literature and summarize the available long-term cognitive outcomes in the pediatric population.
