3.32 might maternal perinatal anxiety predict infant ’s early social abilities? new insights from a longitudinal study on low-risk dyads

Previous studies investigated the relationship between maternal anxiety disorder and children ’s outcomes. It seems that dyads with mothers diagnosed with anxiety disorder are characterized by lower levels of maternal sensitivity and infant social engagement than control subjects. However, little is known about this relationship in dyads with mothers without any symptoms of psychopathology . Our study investigated the relationship between maternal perinatal anxiety and infant’s early social abilities in low-risk dyads.
