3.72 burnout in child psychiatry fellows and effects of retreat on burnout

Burnout is a work-related syndrome of exhaustion and detachment, which is a significant problem for physicians, especially trainees. Burnout affects patient care, physician health/wellness, and health care systems. Few studies have looked at burnout among child psychiatrists, and to our knowledge, none has looked specifically at child psychiatry fellows. We aimed to determine the burnout rates among child psychiatry fellows over time and hypothesized that burnout would decrease after a retreat.
