Pediatric Immunology and Allergy

This issue of Pediatric Clinics of North America focuses on some of the radical changes that have occurred in our field over the past few years and addresses some of the issues we still need to tackle. Food allergy prevention now involves early tolerance induction rather than avoidance of highly allergenic foods. Eosinophilic gut disease has its own set of practice parameters that differ for children and adults, and treatments are rapidly evolving for this disorder. Children with food allergies are now routinely challenged with the offending food, and in some cases, desensitized.
