American Society for Radiation Oncology/ROI Comparative Effectiveness Research Award This award aims to develop comparative effectiveness research leaders within radiation oncology, and to stimulate research focused on evaluating the effectiveness, complication profile, cost and cost-effectiveness of various radiation therapy treatments, as well as the comparative effectiveness when compared to other therapies. You are eligible if: You are a board-certified or board-eligible physician in radiation oncology at the time the award commences. You are committed to a career that focuses primarily on academic radiation oncology. If you are a junior faculty member, you must name a primary mentor who will be equally responsible for the planning, direction, and execution of the study. All applicants and mentors must be active ASTRO members. Each year, two researchers are selected for this award, which provides $50,000 annually for two years. The second year of funding is contingent upon the recipient meeting all the award requirements at the completion of the first year.A third year of support may be available, but it is competitive with new applicants. At least 40 percent of the recipient's full-time professional effort must be devoted to the goals of this award.
