An intolerance to manufactured scents can lead to migraines, respiratory issues and long-term sick leave. So should they be banned in public spaces? If you flew abroad this summer, you probably passed through an airport ’s duty-free perfume section. Perhaps you paused to spritz yourself with an expensive scent you had no intention of buying, before making the obligatory trip to WH Smith for overpriced crisps and bottles of water. For most people, the wafting odours of perfume counters are not a problem. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: A total of 240 and 296 participants were enrolled in Kenya and South Africa. The majority were female (59% and 64% respectively), with a median age of 35 years. In both countries, most subjects were newly diagnosed with HIV on the day of enrolment (62%, 55%), believed they already had adequate knowledge to begin ART (78%, 68%), and preferred to start ART immediately (same-day) (98% in both countries). ConclusionThe use of treatment regimens composed of SOF and DCV or SOF and SMV showed a high SVR rate, despite of a high rate of RAS, and a good tolerability profile in patients with HCV genotype 1. However, the high occurrence of baseline RAS observed in this casuistic is still a concern and studies like this show the necessity to understand how they are maintained in the population and to direct more efficiently the use of DAAs.

We report a very rare case of intracranial infection by molluscum contagiosum virus. A 25-year-old girl was admitted to our hospital due to severe headache but no fever or other symptoms. Upon examination, some small flesh-colored flattened papules on both arms were noticed. Blood tests showed slightly reduced levels of CD3 and CD4 T lymphocytes. Three-dimensional time-of-flight magnetic resonance angiography (3D-TOF-MRA) and head magnetic resonance (MR) were both normal. Lumbar puncture was performed, and metagenomic sequencing was applied to the spinal fluid. The unique sequences of the molluscum contagiosum virus were i...
