Sex Differences in Grant Funding —Reply

In Reply Using public data, we found that first-time female PIs received significantly smaller median NIH grant awards than their male counterparts. The median difference was $39  106, with a range by grant type and institution. There were no statistically significant differences in research breadth, productivity, or the number of citations between men and women prior to the grant.
